US Praises Tajikistan for Intellectual Property Rights Protection Efforts
DUSHANBE, 08.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan is no longer in the “black list” of countries where intellectual property rights are violated, Khovar’s correspondent reports with reference to the Special 301 Report of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), which was published recently.
USTR expressed its appreciation regarding the significant work carried out by the government of Tajikistan to fulfill their obligations to protect intellectual property rights under the bilateral trade agreement between Tajikistan and the United States.
The US noted their appreciation for the steps taken by Tajikistan to bring legislation in line with the agreement on the trade-related aspects of WTO’s intellectual property rights and the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
Initiatives and efforts of President Emomali Rahmon, including his decree on promoting the use of licensed software in state institutions are one these significant steps.
