Tajikistan Signs Joint Action Plan for Drug Control with OSCE
DUSHANBE, 21.02.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan and the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe have signed the Joint Action Plan for Drug Control for 2020.
The Director of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan Sherkhon Salimzoda and the Chief of Politico-Military Department of the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe Florian Razesberger signed the plan yesterday.
The plan includes training and retraining of professional trainers from among the DCA young employees in the field of combating drug smuggling, conducting anti-drug measures to reduce drug addiction, promoting a tolerant attitude toward the vulnerable groups and other mass programs, reports Tajik DCA.
Following the signing ceremony, Salimzoda expressed his concern about importing and distributing new synthetic narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances into the country.
Salimzoda also informed the OSCE about the drug situation in Tajikistan and the region, as well as the measures taken by the government in the field of control over the circulation of drugs, trends, processes, drug prevention and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population.
The parties agreed that the implementation of the plan will facilitate the improvement of society.
