SCO Military Medicine Symposium Held in Xi’an

DUSHANBE, 19.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – From May 13 through May 15, the Chinese city of Xi’an hosted the Military Medicine Symposium of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

According to the SCO Secretariat in Beijing, organized by the Ministry of Defense of China, the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), and the Air Force Military Medical University of the PLA, the symposium brought together over 100 participants from military medical agencies and experts from SCO member states, including Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Sri Lanka, as well as officials from the SCO Secretariat.

Themed “Joint Construction of a Community with a Shared Future for SCO: Contributions in the Field of Military Medicine,” the event focused on advancing military medical cooperation among SCO member states.

During the discussions, experts exchanged knowledge and best practices on various aspects of military medicine, including organ transplantation, the treatment of traumatic brain injuries and combat wounds, as well as the latest developments in drone and aerospace medical technology.

The delegates reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing the cooperation and potential of the SCO in the field of military medicine.
