Komronshoh Ustopiriyon – First Asian Champion on Judo from Tajikistan
Dushanbe, 18.04.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Known Tajik wrestler Komronshoh Ustopiriyon at the Asian Judo Championship in Tashkent has won the gold. This tournament is a berth to the Olympic Rio — 2016.
At the Asian Judo Championship that was held on April 16 in Tashkent — the capital of Uzbekistan, known Tajik wrestler Komronshoh Ustopiriyon in the weight category up to 90 kg overcame all his rivals and became the holder of gold medal.
This competition was attended by 233 athletes (136 men and 97 women) from 31 countries.
In the team competition the national team of Tajikistan took the sixth place. Japan (4 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze) in the first place, Mongolia (4-1-6) are in second and Kazakhstan (3-2-4) — on the third.
Thus, Komronshoh Ustopiriyon is the first representative of Tajikistan, who for all history of the Tajik judo became the Asian champion.
The Asian championship on this Olympic sport is conducted since 1966. The Tajik athletes in these competitions have won a total of 14 medals – 1 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze.
