UNESCO will consider the nomination “Chakan” for inscription in the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity
Dushanbe, 26.11.2015. (NIAT “Khovar”). — The session of the Intergovernmental Committee for intangible cultural heritage will take place from November 29 to December 4 in Windhoek (Namibia).
The session will consider seven nominations for inclusion in the List of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding, and thirty-four nominations for inscription in the Representative list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
In 2015, nominations for inclusion in the Representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity became “Chakan” — the art of embroidery in Kulyab.
In addition, there will also be considered a number of ethical principles to be followed in the protection of intangible heritage.
Representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity currently has 314 objects.
