DCA representative attended the meeting of the Steering Committee of UNODC program
Dushanbe, 25.02.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). — First Deputy Director of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Samad Zafar attended the work of the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the program of the UN office on drugs and crime for Central Asia in Tashkent.
According to DCA of Tajikistan, the meeting was also attended by senior representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs and anti-drug agencies of the Central Asian countries.
The participants reviewed and approved the membership of the Steering Committee, elected a chairman and co-chairman, as well as discussed the strategy of implementation of the Program and review of results of its implementation.
At the meeting the issues of combating drug trafficking, drug demand reduction, HIV prevention, criminal justice, combating transnational organized crime in the framework of UNODC program for Central Asian countries (2015-2019) were also discussed.
