Foreign Minister Aslov’s bilateral meetings in New York
Dushanbe, 29.02.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). — Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Aslov within the participation of the Ministerial Meeting on the occasion of 50th anniversary of UNDP held a number of bilateral meetings in New York last week.
The Tajik MFA Information Department reports that during a meeting with Jan Eliasson, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations have exchanged views on the cooperation of Tajikistan with the UN institutions, political and security situation in the countries of the region and the assistance of the UN in this process, as well as implementation of new initiatives of Tajikistan on the water recourses management, in particular implementation of the International Decade “Water for Sustainable Development”.
At a meeting with Helen Clark, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) the issues of cooperation of the Republic of Tajikistan with the UNDP, including implementation of the UNDP projects directed at the social and economic development of Tajikistan, as well as assistance of UNDP in development and implementation of sustainable development programs of Tajikistan have been discussed.
The Tajik Foreign Minister also met with Cihan Sultanoğlu, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States of the UN Development Programme (UNDP).
The sides discussed the issues of cooperation of the Republic of Tajikistan with the UNDP, including implementation of the UNDP projects directed at the social and economic development of Tajikistan as well as details of assistance of UNDP in development and implementation of sustainable development programs of Tajikistan.
