Renaming 10 cities and districts, as well as Kairakkum reservoir
Dushanbe, 01.02.2016. (NIAT «Khovar»). — Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed decrees of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to rename a number of cities and districts, geographical objects of the country and submitted them for consideration to the Majlisi milli of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In accordance with the decrees of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan developed and signed on the basis of proposals of Councils of People’s Deputies of regions, cities and districts, the names of a number of cities and districts will be changed as follows:
Hissor district — Hissor City;
Tavildara district — Sangvor district;
Jirgatol district — Lakhsh district;
Jaloliddini Rumi district — Jaloliddini Balkhi district;
Jilikul district — Dusti district;
Qumsangir district — Jayhun district;
Shuroobod district — Shamsiddini Shohin district;
Kairakkum City — Guliston City;
Chkalovsk City — Buston City;
Gonchi district — Devashtich district;
Kairakkum reservoir — Reservoir «Bahri Tojik»
