Dushanbe, 18.02.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). — United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has condemned a terrorist attack in Ankara that claimed at least 28 lives and called to bring to responsibility those behind it, TASS News Agency reports.
“The Secretary-General condemns the explosion reportedly caused by a car bomb in Ankara today, according to a statement attributable to the spokesman for the U.N chief that was released on Wednesday.
“The Secretary-General hopes the perpetrators of this terrorist attack will be swiftly brought to justice. He sends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. The United Nations stands in solidarity with the people and the Government of Turkey at this tragic time”, — the statement says.
According to the latest reports, a car bomb blast near a Turkish army bus killed 28 people and wounded 61. Most of those killed and wounded are Turkish servicemen, including officers. The blast occurred at an evening rush hour in a crowded district not far from the city center. The district is a seat of Turkey’s army and navy command, interior ministry and parliament.
