National Bank of Tajikistan plans to replace the payment system
Dushanbe, 02.03.2016 (NIAT “Khovar”). — The National Bank of Tajikistan plans to replace the system of gross settlement in real time (RTGS) payment system on the Automated Transfer System (ATS) and the Central Securities Depository (CSD).
According to NBT’s press service, in this regard the NBT invites all interested parties to provide a request for expression of interest for cooperation during the replacement of the current RTGS system on the ATS and CSD.
It should be noted that Tajikistan has received a grant in the amount of 10 million USD for the development of the project on private sector. Part of this sum is intended for the payment of services of an international consultant, which include support for the bank by replacing the current RTGS system on the ATS and CSD.
According to a source, this introduction will contribute to the development of Tajikistan’s financial infrastructure by improving efficiency and reducing systemic risk in the implementation of inter-bank payments in large volumes, and support the development of the securities market in the country.
