Women’s junior team of Tajikistan to play with Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Bhutan
Dushanbe, 17.03.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). — The women’s junior team of Tajikistan (U-14) will play at the regional Asian championship in group “A” together with the teams of Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Bhutan.
Earlier it was reported that the regional Asian championship will be attended by nine teams in a zone of South and Central Asia, which will be held in late April in Tajikistan. However, due to the fact that the teams of Sri Lanka and Maldives, which had to compete in group “B”, have refused to participate in the tournament, the Asian Football Confederation held re-draw for the tournament. Now 7 teams will take part in the regional Asian championship. Group “A” includes the teams of Tajikistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Bhutan, group “B” — Bangladesh, Nepal and India.
The matches of group stage will be held on circular system in one round. The top two teams will advance to the semifinals. Then the winners of the 1/2 final matches will play in the final, while the losing teams in the match for third place.
Recall that the regional Asian championship in our zone will take place from April 26 to May 1. Matches will be held on the fields of the Dushanbe’s stadium “Aviator” and in the Academy of FC “Istiqlol” in the Almosi settlement, Hissar district.
