Dushanbe, 01.04.2016 (NIAT “Khovar”). Tajik boxer Jahon Qurbonov has lost in the semifinals of the licensed Boxing tournament among athletes in a zone of “Asia” and “Oceania”, which is taking place now in China.

According to the Director General of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan Muhammadsho Abdulloev, the semifinals of the tournament took place on March 31. Jahon Qurbonov in the weight category up to 91 kg in a duel for getting into the final has met on the ring with an athlete from China. Following the results of three rounds the judges gave the victory to the Chinese representative.

According to the tournament regulations three athletes from each weight category get the berths to the Olympic Games — 2016 in Rio. Besides two finalists, another berth will be given to the winner of the duel for the 3rd place.

Jahon Qurbonov in a duel for 3rd place will meet on April 2 with the representative of Australia.
