Tajikistan among the leading countries in the production of “green” energy
Dushanbe, 30.04.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The World Bank has published the rating of world countries on the percentage of electricity production from renewable energy sources, in which Tajikistan has taken the 6-th position.
According to report, during 2011-2015 years 99.56% of electricity from renewable energy sources has been produced in Tajikistan.
World Bank’s report says that compared to the 2006-2010 years the production of electricity from renewable sources decreased by 0.21%.
At the same time, according to the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, in 2015 Tajikistan’s hydropower plants produced a total of 95.2% (1 billion 419,4 million kWh), approximately 4.8% (68.2 million kWh) of which falls on heat and power centers and this figure is almost two times more compared to 2014.
