Beginning of official visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Tajikistan

The first visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani to the Republic of Tajikistan, who has arrived on an official visit to Dushanbe, began with an official welcoming ceremony in front of the Palace of the Nation (Qasri Millat).
A ceremonial guard of honor was arranged for the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan at the square outside the residence.
Distinguished guest — President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani was greeted by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon who invited him to the honorary tribune.
The official welcoming ceremony began from report of Honor Guard’s commander, the performance of national anthems of the two countries and then continued by a joint passage of the Head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani before the guard of honor, a tribute of the high-ranking guest to the National Flag of Tajikistan, greeting to the officers and soldiers of the Honour Guard, and introduction of the official delegations of the two countries.
The official meeting’s ceremony ended with the passage of the Guard of Honour before the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
Consideration of issues related to the development of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation commenced at a meeting in a narrow format between President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
