Dushanbe, 15.05.2016 / NIAT «Khovar» /. The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Kuwait city met with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the conversation said that currently political ties between the two countries have fruitfully been established, and Tajikistan and Kuwait successfully cooperate within the framework of international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the League of Arab States and the Asia Cooperation Dialogue.

It was stressed that Tajikistan highly appreciates the role and place of the State of Kuwait on the regional and international arenas, considers Kuwait its important partner in the Arab world.

The sides presented fruitful proposals for the participation of Kuwait in the implementation of small and large hydropower projects, construction of transmission lines and other infrastructure projects in Tajikistan, as well as on the strengthening of trade and economic relations, improvement of work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

The sides also exchanged views on expansion of cooperation in the fight against international terrorism and extremism, as well as ensuring of regional security, especially finding a comprehensive solution to the problem of Afghanistan, establishment of peace and stability, the revival of economic and social life in this country.
