Meeting of the Leader of the Nation with the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov
Dushanbe, 11.05.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon received today the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov, who heads his country’s delegation at the launching ceremony of a High Voltage Direct Current (DC) transmission line CASA-1000 project construction.
Head of state Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the conversation said that Tajikistan is interested in sustainable development of cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic, which is based on strong neighborly and friendly relations, and will make a good use of all available resources and opportunities for collaboration output to a new level.
It was emphasized that the launching of transmission line CASA-1000 project will play a constructive role in regional inter-state relations, especially in the development of energy cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, and will create the necessary conditions for strengthening friendly relations in other spheres of mutual interest.
The two sides also exchanged views on ways to improve the performance of interstate commerce, make full use of the transport and transit potential of the two countries and active participation in the process of regional security.
The meeting also confirmed the interest of the parties in the development of bilateral relations in the humanitarian sphere, and particularly emphasized an active role of the two countries in other projects of regional significance.
