Nationwide referendum on amendments to the Constitution declared valid
Dushanbe, 22.05.2016 / NIAT «Khovar» /. A nationwide referendum on introduction of amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan is declared valid, said the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of Tajikistan.
According to the CCER of Tajikistan, by noon local time more than 2 million 933 thousand 812 people have voted , accounting for 66 percent of voters.
In connection with this the referendum on introduction of amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan has been declared valid.
Polling stations in Tajikistan opened on Sunday at 6 a.m. local time, when over 4 million bulletins published for the holding of a nationwide referendum on introduction of amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan.
More than 120 international observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan, as well as more than 381 representatives of local non-governmental organizations are monitoring the vote.
