Regular session of EITI Council was held in Dushanbe
Dushanbe, 20.05.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The III session of the Council of extractive industries transparency initiative (EITI) in Tajikistan chaired by the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan — Chairman of EITI Council in Tajikistan Mehrinamo Jonmamadova was held on May 18 in Dushanbe.
The meeting was attended by the World Bank Mission headed by Boubacar Bocoum.
At the meeting the draft annual progress report on EITI implementation in Tajikistan in 2015 and draft updated work plan for 2016-2017 have been discussed and approved. These documents were developed in accordance with the requirements of EITI and unanimously approved at this session.
During the session, Boubacar Bocoum by sharing his opinions and recommendations highly praised the work of EITI Council in Tajikistan. He has noted that the Council was able in short time to do a specific job and achieve the desired results. Head of WB Mission has assured that the WB is ready to support and provide financial support for the further development and implementation of the EITI in Tajikistan.
Summing up the session, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Mehrinamo Jonmamadova has expressed gratitude to the head of the WB Mission Mr. Boubacar Bocoum and members of the Working group for joint and fruitful work and noted that the planned further activities will be carried out efficiently and effectively in accordance within the set-up time with plan terms.
