CIS Defence Ministers Council to sit in Moscow on June 15
Dushanbe, 13.06.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. A meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States will take place in Moscow on June 15, 2016.
According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the CIS defense ministers are expected to discuss the process of the implementation of the CIS military cooperation concept for the period until 2020, development of a draft air and space defense concept, and holding of International Army Games 2016.
The meeting participants will also discuss issues related to activities of the Coordination Council for Military Education at the CIS Council of Ministers of Defense and collaboration between the services for protection of state secrets of the armed forces of the CIS member states.
It is expected that the meeting will plan joint activities of the armed forces of the CIS participants member states for 2017, measures to promote cooperation between the defense departments of control and radiological evaluation, chemical and biological environment, the procedure for disposal of encryption hardware identification of the Unified system of state radar identification «Password» used in the armed forces of the Commonwealth countries.
It will assess the legal basis of the CIS on cooperation in the military sphere and the state of aviation safety for the armed forces in 2015.
In addition, the CIS defenseministers are expected to adopt documents regulating activities of theCommittee of Chiefs of Staffs of the Armed Forces of the CIS participatingstates and development of the military applied types of sports for the period until2020.
The meeting will also adopt a numberof decisions regarding financial and personnel issues.
