Croatia, Czech Republic played draw in Group D match at Euro-2016
Dushanbe, 18.06.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Croatia and the Czech Republic drew 2-2 their Group D clash at Stade Geoffroy Guichard in Saint-Etienne, France, on Friday.
Croatia’s Ivan Perisic and Ivan Rakitic scored the goals at the 37th and 59th minutes.
Milan Skoda pulled a goal back for the Czech Republic at the 76th minute, while Tomas Necid scoredwith a penalty in stoppage time.
The match was temporarily suspended after several flares were thrown onto the pitch by Croatian fans.
Croatia is currently at the top of Group D with four points after two matches and will face Spain on June 21. The Czech Republic will play with Turkey also on June 21.
The 2016 UEFA Euro Cup is held in France between June 10 and July 10 with matches played in 10 different locations, namely in Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse.
A total of 24 European national teams qualified for the Euro Cup final tournament in 2016, after the contestants’ format, which was used since 1996, was decided to be extended from 16 to 24 teams.
