Dushanbe, 03.06.2016 / NIAT “Khovar” /.  The 15th session of the COMSTECH General Assembly has been held in Islamabad, Pakistan, on 30 May-1 June 2016, in the presence of President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, in which Tajikistan Delegation was led by Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan Nuriddin Said.

COMSTECH (Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation) is a Ministerial Standing Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Scientific and Technological Cooperation and Promotion amongst the members of OIC.

During his speech at the General Assembly he has stated that the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon pays special attention to the development of education and science and up to 20 percent of the state budget is allocated to these spheres.

The Minister also mentioned in his speech to the audience on the provisions of the laws of the Republic of Tajikistan “On scientific and public policy activities on science and technology”, “On innovation activities”, “On technology parks” and other information and on the scientific achievements of the Academy of Sciences, Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Academy of Medical Sciences, Academy of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan and dozens of scientific- sector Institutions.

Also head of the Tajikistan delegation shared information about the contribution of the Tajik civilized nation like Abu Ali Ibn Sina in the field of medicine, Abubakr Razi in chemistry, Muhammad Kharezmi in mathematics, Abu Raihan Beruni in Astrology and others, who made great efforts in the golden fund of human science.

As a result of the work of the Assembly had been elected new members of the working structures of the COMSTECH General Assembly for its prospects and plans for scientific-technical cooperation of member states in the near future.
