Italy beats Belgium at Euro 2016 group stage match
Dushanbe, 14.06.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Italy’s national football team has defeated Belgium 2-0 in a group stage match of the 2016 UEFA Euro Cup underway in France.
The Group E game was held at the Stade des Lumi•res stadium in Lyon. Italy’s Emanuele Giaccherini shot a goal in the 32nd minute and Graziano Pell in the 90th minute.
Group E also comprises Sweden and Ireland, which earlier Monday played a match that ended in a draw 1-1. Next time, Italy will on June 17 play Sweden in Toulouse, and Belgium will next day play Ireland in Bordeaux.
The 2016 UEFA Euro Cup is held in France between June 10 and July 10 with matches played in 10 different locations, namely in Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse.
A total of 24 European national teams qualified for the Euro Cup final tournament in 2016, after the contestants’ format, which was used since 1996, was decided to be extended from 16 to 24 teams.
