Meeting of the Leader of the Nation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov
The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who arrived in Dushanbe for a working visit.
During the meeting the sides constructively discussed the state and prospects of the whole range of the Tajik-Uzbek relations, and considered the ways of further expanding them.
The parties noted with satisfaction the positive trends of the last time in the relations between the two countries, including increased volume of trade, the revitalization of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, as well as the importance of maintaining regular political consultations and dialogue at the highest levels.
A real and urgent need was emphasized for the practical revitalization of cultural and humanitarian component of cooperation between the two countries.
The sides discussed current regional and international issues, and emphasized the importance of regional security as the main condition for the socio-political stability in Central Asia.
During the meeting the parties reaffirmed that there is a lot of spheres for joint efforts, and the relevant structures of the two countries should carry out systematic work to output the entire complex of inter-state relations on a new path of development.
In this context, the President of Tajikistan stressed the priority of the Tajik-Uzbek relations in the foreign policy of Tajikistan.
It was pointed out to the importance of preserving and strengthening good-neighborly and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries, based on common spiritual values and rich traditions of friendship and mutual respect that are rooted deep into history.
At the same time, a vitally important issue — enhancement of the level of economic and trade partnership was determined as an important factor in creating a favorable background for a constructive promotion of the whole complex of bilateral Tajik-Uzbek relations.
As well, water and energy, and transport and logistics sectors, and the issues of reciprocal trips of citizens were identified as areas requiring active constructive cooperation.
At the end of the conversation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan wished the leadership of neighboring Uzbekistan success in the continuation of the Uzbek model of development, and its brotherly people — peace, stability, and prosperity.
