President Emomali Rahmon called Islam Karimov’s death a great loss to all countries partnering with Uzbekistan
Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon arrived to Samarqand, Uzbekistan, in order to take part in the funeral of the late President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was met at International Airport of Samarqand by senior representatives of the Government of Uzbekistan.
Ceremony of funerals of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov took place at the Registan Square, and official state funeral ceremony was held at the Samarqand Government House.
The official state funeral ceremony was attended by President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, heads of a number of states and governments, leaders of influential international organizations, and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
On behalf of the Government and the people of Tajikistan, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon during the farewell ceremony expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy to family and relatives of Islam Karimov and to the friendly and brotherly people of Uzbekistan over this irretrievable loss and called Islam Karimov’s death a heavy loss for the government and the people of Uzbekistan, and to all friendly countries partnering with Uzbekistan.
