By efforts of the President of Tajikistan the country was visited by over 200 thousand foreigners from 100 countries of the world for half a year

The issues of tourism development in Tajikistan will be discussed by representatives of tourism sector of the country at a conference to be held tomorrow, on October 11. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the press-secretary of the Committee for Youth , Sports and Tourism under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Jalolov.
“The main topic will be the issue of contribution of the Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the promotion of tourism industry of the republic”, — he said.
According to organizers, thanks to efforts of the head of state and his significant contribution to the protection of the interests, authority and image of Tajikistan on the international arena, this sphere is being developed rapidly in our country.
According to the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Tajikistan was included into three countries, whose popularity among tourists increased most of all last year, the number of tourists increased by 94%.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Rizo Nazarzoda, the republic in 2015 was visited by nearly two times more foreigners than a year earlier — about 414 thousand, of which 240.5 thousand as tourists from 59 countries.
For the 6 months of this year, the country was visited by over 210 thousand foreign citizens from 100 countries, which is 20 thousand more than in the same period of last year.
According to Nazarzoda, such positive trend is related to an individual approach to the client, improving service quality and maintaining the high level of safety of the tourists.
He noted that now all the actions of the Committee are directed till 2020 to bring the number of tourists to 1 million people.
Meanwhile, today the relations of Tajikistan in the field of tourism with Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, China, USA, and Ukraine are dynamically developing. Only for the first half of the year more than 37 thousand Russians and 32 thousand Kyrgyz citizens have visited here as tourists.
