First meeting of the US -Tajikistan Business Council was held in Washington
Dushanbe, 10.10.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The first meeting of the US-Tajikistan Business Council was held on October 7 in Washington DC with the participation of the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan — Finance Minister Abdusalom Qurboniyon, Chairman of the National Bank Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, Deputy Finance Minister Umed Latipov, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United States Farhod Salim, Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Ilhom Rajabov.
Director of Public Affairs and International Business Development of AGCO Corporation, Head of the Council Phillip de Leon, US Trade Representative Assistant for South Asia Michael Delaney and Senior Manager on International Trade and Investment of the “General Electrics” Company, Vice President of the Council Orit Frenkel, Senior Counselor of the Baker & McKenzie Company, representatives of the US State Department, Department of Commerce, Department of Agriculture and the US trade companies took part in the inaugural event of the Council.
According to Tajik MFA Information Department, during the event the official delegation of our country provided the representatives of US business with the detailed information on the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in creating a favorable investment climate, guarantees and privileges for foreign investors and important sectors of economy. The sides highly appreciated the establishment of the Council, which will enhance the trade cooperation between the USA and Tajikistan and expressed the willingness to expand the activity of the Business Council.
