MOFA: Turkey’s Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu to visit Tajikistan
Dushanbe, 20.10.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will make a working visit to Tajikistan on Friday, Tajik MFA information department said on Wednesday.
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is also expected to hold meetings with his counterparts in the foreign ministry and to discuss a number of issues and exchange ideas.
It should be noted that the Republic of Turkey recognized Tajikistans independence on 16 December 1991 and diplomatic relations were established on 29 January 1992. The Turkish Embassy in Dushanbe was inaugurated on 4 August 1992 and Tajikistans Embassy in Ankara was opened on 16 October 1995.
Since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries the President of the Republic of Tajikistan has paid 7 official and working visits to the Republic of Turkey (May 1996, October 1998, November 1999, January 2006, March 2009, December 2010 and December 2012).
The Presidents of Turkey made 3 official and working visits to the Republic of Tajikistan (September 1995, November 2001 and May 2009).
