Valentina Matviyenko: Tajikistan is a country, which managed to realize the aspirations and hopes of its people
Dushanbe, 14.10.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Tajikistan and Russia have learned sufficient experience in the direction of activities of the bicameral Parliament. The parliaments of both countries should make effective use of the rich experience of each other. This opinion was expressed by the Chairperson of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko at the meeting with the Chairman of Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Shukurjon Zuhurov here in Dushanbe.
“The history of modern statehood of Tajiks experienced a very difficult period. Currently, in Tajikistan big changes catche the eye in a positive way. Tajikistan is a country, which managed to realize the aspirations and hopes of its people. The Parliament of Tajikistan passes laws only in the interests of the people. At the same time, it always protects the regional position of the country. Such experience in the history of activities of parliaments is a new phenomenon”, — Valentina Matviyenko noted at the meeting.
She mentioned that the Russian people are aware of the struggle of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon for the restoration of peace and stability in the country and highly respects the work and feat of the glorious Tajik people in the name of achievement of peace and mutual understanding.
During an official visit to Tajikistan, Valentina Matviyenko has met with the country’s leadership – the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Chairman of Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadsaid Ubaydulloev and the Chairman of Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the country Shukurjon Zuhurov and discussed the important issues of an effective and multilateral cooperation of Tajikistan and Russia. Valentina Matviyenko has also attended the Inter-Parliamentary Forum “Tajikistan and Russia: potential of interregional cooperation”.
