Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received a message of congratulations from the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, which reads in particular:
“Your Excellency,
Let me express cordial congratulations to you on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Republic of Tajikistan.
Since the day your state obtained independence, very friendly relations between Japan and Tajikistan have been developing.
In October 2015, I visited Tajikistan in my capacity as Prime Minister, for the first time. We had fruitful talks with you. During these talks, we were unanimous in our opinion that we have agreed to promote cooperation in various fields.
I would like to note with satisfaction that this visit gave impetus to the development of relations between our countries, and further measures will be taken on the implementation of agreements in large-scale areas.
Our country has consistently supported the Republic of Tajikistan during the period of its independence.
We are ready to continue to provide support for the development of the state and social system and the formation of market economy of the Republic of Tajikistan, in particular the development of infrastructure, regional development and cadres.
Availing the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, I express sincere hope for the further development and deepening of cooperation between Tajikistan and Japan and the extension of the ties of friendship between our peoples.
I also express hope for active cooperation with You, including for cooperation within the framework of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue.
Let me wish Your Excellency strong health, and the people of Tajikistan- happiness.»
