Instructions of the Head of State for the elimination of consequences of the earthquake in Rasht Valley

On the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, a government commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaymon Ziyozoda was deployed to the districts of the Rasht Valley from the first moments after the earthquake on April 13.
The government commission, consisting of representatives of the leadership of ministries and agencies related to emergencies, state resources, construction, geology, land development and geodesy, and local executive bodies of state power, is engaged in a comprehensive study of the consequences of the earthquake and determining the volume and types of urgent assistance to the affected people.
In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, the volume, methods and means of providing assistance to the people and eliminating the consequences of this natural disaster should be determined as soon as possible, and work to eliminate the emerging problems should be accelerated.
According to the information received so far, 94 residential buildings were completely destroyed and 50 houses were partially destroyed in the Rasht and Tojikobod districts, and 61 other houses were slightly damaged. 3 secondary educational institutions and about 200 other various facilities were also damaged.
It should be recalled that on April 13, 2025 at 09:24 an earthquake occurred in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan. The earthquake’s epicenter, located 160 km northeast of Dushanbe and 21 km east of the center of Rasht district, measured 5-6 points, and in Dushanbe it measured 3 points.
