Press conference on “International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028” held in Tehran
DUSHANBE, 09.02.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Islamic Republic of Iran on February 7 held a press conference regarding the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution entitled “International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028”. The event was attended by a wide range of domestic and foreign journalists, representatives of ministries and departments of Islamic Republic of Iran and the diplomatic corps accredited in Iran, MFA Information Department reports.
According to the ministry’s message, the Ambassador of Tajikistan in Iran Nematullo Emomzoda talked about the water issues, its growing importance and existing problems in the world and has pointed out the initiatives taken by the Founder of peace and national unity, Leader of the nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon in water issues, the world community welcoming these initiatives, the decisions taken on existing problems and the establishment of constructive cooperation in this context.
“At the same time, the Ambassador noted that in the context of the growing impact of global processes in the water resources issues, it is important to permanently improve the dialogue and partnership, to establish an effective and reasonable cooperation in the water sector for sustainable development, maintain balance and environmental sustainability to ensure peace and tranquility in the interests of all countries”, — says the ministry.
It is reported that the Ambassador answered to numerous questions of the mass media and at the end of the meeting the demonstration videos on Tajikistan achievements were shown to the attendees.
