Chairman of Sughd Region received Parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Latvia
DUSHANBE, 07.03.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Abdurahmon Qodiri, Chairman of Sughd Region on Monday March 6 received a delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia led by Veiko Spolitis.
According to the executive body of state authority of the Sugd Region, during the meeting Abdurahmon Qodiri noted that “we can further strengthen cooperation within the framework of Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Latvia, which was signed by the heads of both countries”.
Veiko Spolitis emphasized that sweet fruits of Tajikistan, including Sugd Region are ecologically clean and have multiple buyers abroad. The establishing of the exports of dried fruits will represent Tajikistan and increase its influence.
During the meeting the parties had also an exchange of views on strengthening cooperation in education field, including the study of youth in higher institutions of Latvia, as well as expressed their interest and readiness for the expansion and development of cooperation in the fields of industry, health, energy, tourism, and drinking water.
