DUSHANBE, 02.03.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received a message of congratulations from the Secretary-General of the United Nations António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres, which reads in particular:
“Excellency,
I wish to extend my congratulations to you and the people of the Republic of Tajikistan on the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of your country’s membership in the United Nations.
I highly appreciate the support of your Government to the work of the United Nations.
Tajikistan has been a true leader on issues related to sustainable development and water. I also congratulate you and the people of the Republic of Tajikistan on the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of peace and national accord in Tajikistan. The United Nations will continue to count on Tajikistan as a partner for peace and development.
In particular, I would like to note my appreciation for the cooperation that your country has given to the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia and the United Nations country team.
I can assure you that the United Nations remains committed to working together closely with the Republic of Tajikistan, particularly as we begin to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieve sustainable development of the people of Tajikistan.
