Women’s Asian Cup — 2018 qualifiers to start in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 31.03.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Women’s Asian Cup — 2018 qualifiers will start on Monday, April 3, in Dushanbe. Women’s national teams of Tajikistan, Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines will compete for the only berth to the final stage of the competition in the group “A”.
According to the press service of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, to date, the women’s national teams of Bahrain and Jordan have already arrived in Dushanbe.
All matches of the Asian Cup — 2018 qualifiers in group “A” will be held at the Dushanbe Central Republican stadium. First matches will be played on April 3. At the matches of the 1st round will meet Bahrain and Jordan (beginning of the match at 13:00 Dushanbe time), Iraq and Tajikistan (beginning of the match at 16:00) and the Philippines – UAE (beginning of the match at 19:00).
To the final stage of the Asian Cup – 2018 to be held next year in Jordan will advance the winners of the four qualifying groups.
The team of Jordan, which automatically qualified for the final tournament as hosts, will play in qualifiers out of the competition. If Jordan takes 1st place in its group, then a berth to final will get the team, which takes 2nd place in group “A”.
Besides Jordan, the best 3 teams of the last Asian championship that was held in 2014 in Vietnam also qualified for the final stage of the Asian Cup-2018. They are the national teams of Japan, Australia and China.
