Tajik — Russian relationship steadily develops
DUSHANBE, 14.04.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Social Development and Public Relations Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda held a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (“Rossotrudnichestvo”) Dmitry Guzhelya and Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in the Republic of Tajikistan Mikhail Vozhdayev.
During the meeting the parties had a constructive exchange of views on issues of expanding cooperation in the spheres of science, education, arts, sport and tourism.
Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda stressed that thanks to the wise policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, there are 161 secondary educational institutions functioning in Tajikistan, where 64 194 students are studying. Currently, more than 15000 Tajik students are studying in Russian higher educational institutions, 12000 of whom by quotas.
Also, an exchange of views on the issues of holding a fair of professional universities of the Russian Federation and the participation of Tajik teenagers and young people took place. It was stressed that this exhibition will be attended by over 40 universities from different parts of Russia. It was also noted that the number of free quotas by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia for Tajik students will be increased in the future.
The parties have expressed satisfaction with the humanitarian cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, as well as readiness for further strengthening and expansion of relations.
