The results of activity of the capital’s passenger transport for the first three months of the current year summed up
DUSHANBE, 25.04.2017 /NIAT «Khovar»/. The press conference on the results of activities of the capital passenger transport for the first three months of the current year was held yesterday, on April 24 in the Executive body of state authority of Dushanbe city. The conference was attended by the Deputy Chairman of Dushanbe city Qurbon Saidzoda and responsible persons of the sphere.
During a press conference Qurbon Saidzoda noted that the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, at the meeting with activists and a leadership of Dushanbe city on February 15 of the current year, voiced specific instructions to improve the activity of public transport, improve the quality of passenger service, providing an order and elimination of traffic jams on the capital’s roads.
For this purpose the Executive body of state authority of Dushanbe city has taken a number of necessary measures to streamline the movement of passenger transport and improve the quality of public services.
“For the first 3 months of 2017, a number of cardinal changes took place in this area, in particular, changes were made in the capital routes, and intra-city networks were improved. During this period, due to the inconsistency of the quality of passenger service, the activities of 7 limited liability companies, engaged in transportation of passengers, were suspended. During this period 42 million passengers were transported by public transport of Dushanbe city, more than 3000 units of passenger vehicles, including 300 buses, 70 trolley buses, 2000 minibuses of different brands were engaged in servicing residents and guests of the capital,” — said Q. Saidzoda.
It was also noted that with the release of 40 new passenger buses “ISUZU” on routes No. 1 and No. 3 the quality of passenger service in the capital has improved. In addition, in July of the current year, the arrival of another 24 buses of this brand is expected, which will also contribute to meet the requirements of passengers and ensure the regular passenger traffic on all routes.
According to Q. Saidzoda, the interval between the new passenger buses on routes No. 1 and No. 3, as well as other lines at peak hours is 3 minutes and rest — 5 minutes. Buses that previously cruised along these routes were transferred to lines No. 18 and No. 8
Deputy Chairman of the Dushanbe city also noted that the plan for further development aimed at improving the work of passenger transport and bringing it into line with international standards is currently being developed.
It was also stressed that the passengers, in turn, should also be responsible for the maintaining the cleanliness of the capital’s public transport.
