VIII international half marathon to be held on April 15 in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 05.04.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The VIII Dushanbe international half marathon devoted to celebration of the Day of the capital of Tajikistan is to be held on April 15. The corresponding decree was signed yesterday by the Acting Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali. According to the decree, the event is held “in order to worthy celebrate the Day of capital, popularize the physical culture and sports, healthy lifestyle, as well as to strengthen cooperation with sister cities”.
According to the Information and Analytical Department of the Office of the Chairman of Dushanbe city, the Main Department of Finance of the capital was instructed at the expense of available funds of the city budget to allocate 316 thousand 620 TJS for the holding of this event.
The half marathon will begin on Saturday, April 15 at 9:00 a.m.
It should be noted that the Dushanbe half marathon is included in an official list of the International Association of Marathons, which gives it a high status. Traditionally, in addition to Tajik runners, athletes from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, Canada, Kenya, China, the United States, France and other countries will take part in this sporting event.
We will recall that the first Dushanbe half marathon of the international level for a distance of 21 km with the participation of athletes from 14 sister cities and partner cities of Dushanbe, as well as the best marathon runners from all parts of the republic was held in April 2010.
