Leader of the Nation’s condolences on the death of former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl
DUSHANBE, 17.06.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a message of condolences to President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the death of Helmut Kohl.
The President’s message reads, in particular:
“Excellency,
With great sadness we share the news of the death of former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl.
Helmut Kohl has gone down in the modern history as an outstanding statesman, who largely determined the nature and content of an era in the country’s development, played a key role in the reunification of Germany and creation of the European Union.
Thanks to his tireless efforts, he gained universal recognition in the international arena to consolidate peace and general accord, and to put an end to the Cold War.
In this hour of grief I convey to you, His Excellency, to the family and friends of the deceased, and all the people of Germany my sincere sympathy and condolences».
