DUSHANBE, 15.06.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. In the framework of his official visit to Armenia, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon has met today with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Karen Karapetyan.

The two sides discussed prospects for expanding of bilateral cooperation in political, economic and trade fields, industry and construction, agriculture, healthcare, science and education, cultural and environmental protection.

President of our country Emomali Rahmon expressed interest in further expansion of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation with the friendly Republic of Armenia, and pointed out that we attach sincere hope for the years ahead of our cooperation in the context of implementation of previously signed agreements.

It was stressed that the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation would lay a solid foundation for expanding bilateral economic cooperation.

The two sides have expressed keen interest in cooperation in the spheres of the textile industry, the import of modern industrial technology, processing of precious metals, jewelry manufacturing.

Tourism and telecommunication technologies were also identified as very promising areas of bilateral cooperation.

The sides also exchanged their views on building up cooperation in humanitarian fields, culture, science and education, establishing mutually beneficial ties between the intelligentsia of the two countries.
