Malaysia and Indonesia to host Asian Junior and Youth Championships-2018
DUSHANBE, 27.07.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Asian Football Confederation announced the place for the final parts of Asian Junior (U-16) and Youth (U-19) Championships-2018, official website of the Football Federation of Tajikistan reports.
According to the source, the 18th Asian Junior Championship (U-16) will be held from September 20 to October 7, 2018 in Malaysia. 45 teams in two zones — Western (23) and Eastern (22) will take part in qualifiers to be held on September 16-29, 2018. As a result of the draw, 10 groups were formed.
The junior team of Tajikistan under the leadership of head coach Zayniddin Rahimov will play in group “B” against teams of Oman, Syria, Turkmenistan and Maldives. The qualifying matches of this group will be held on September 16 — 24 at the Central Stadium of Hissar, Tajikistan.
The jubilee, 40th Asian Youth Championship (U-19) will be held from October 18 to November 4 in Indonesia. 43 teams in two zones — Western (22) and Eastern (21), divided into 10 groups will compete in qualifiers for the right to advance to the final part of the tournament.
The youth team of Tajikistan under the leadership of head coach Mubin Ergashev will play against the teams of Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives in qualifiers. The qualifying matches will be held from October 31 to November 8 in Hissar, Tajikistan.
It should be noted that the winners of 10 qualifying groups and 5 teams, ranked second in their groups with the best results, will advance to the final parts of the Asian Junior (U-16) and Youth (U-16) Championships-2018.
