The event was also attended by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Muhammad Ashraf Ghani, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov and their delegations as well as representatives of the international financial institutions.

President of Tajikistan in his address pointed out that the Tajik side will actively participate in a timely implementation of an important and effective CASA-1000 project.

Recalling the importance of addressing energy measures by Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon highlighted that the implementation of the CASA-1000 project would benefit the interests of our peoples and states.

It was also stressed that the implementation of the small and large-scale hydropower projects in Tajikistan would tangibly increase our opportunities in production of the “green energy”.

It was emphasized that alongside with ensuring the social and economic development of our countries, the CASA-1000 project will also connect us through a stable power bridge which expands and deepens our cooperation in other vitally important spheres of our lives.

Besides, the CASA-1000 is a key element of the regional energy market which will bring together producers and consumers of electricity in our regions. Tajikistan’s ability to export electricity all year round by increasing the capacity of its domestic production was presented.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon noted that the CASA-1000 project will facilitate the introduction of new commercial standards and modern technologies, and highlighted the important role of its development partners in the development and implementation of the Project.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Muhammad Ashraf Ghani, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov and the representative of the World Bank Ranjit Lamech also delivered statements.

At the end of the event, Joint Declaration on the results of the meeting of the Heads of State and Government of the CASA-1000 participating countries was adopted that is an evidence of a successful outcome of this regional event.
