Tajikistan and Latvia to strengthen customs cooperation
DUSHANBE, 04.07.2017 /NIAT “Khovar” /. The issues of strengthening cooperation between the customs authorities of Tajikistan and Latvia were discussed at the meeting of the Head of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdufattoh Ghoib and Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Tajikistan (with residence in Tashkent) Edgars Bondars.
According to the press centre of Customs Service, during the meeting interlocutors have discussed issues related to strengthening cooperation between Customs Service and the State Revenue Service of the Republic of Latvia. It was noted that the Latvian State Revenue Service in order to increase the effectiveness of measures of preventing violation in the customs field during the passing operation (transit), and to strengthen bilateral relations between Customs Services of Latvia and Tajikistan, has prepared the joint project “Effective management of customs risks while performing reliable customs control”.
According to the source, the Head of the Customs Service of Tajikistan has considered acceptable this project.
It should be noted that the trade turnover between Tajikistan and Latvia made 6.3 million dollars last year, and these indicators have decreased more than two times compared to 2015.
