Festival “Oshi palav” to be held in Khujand city
DUSHANBE, 17.08.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The festival-contest “Oshi palav” (pilaf — a traditional meal in Tajikistan) will be held on August 24 at the Historical and Cultural Complex “Qal’ai Khujand” (Khujand Fortress) of Khujand city, Sugd region.
According to the executive body of state authority of Sughd region, the festival-contest will be attended by the best cooks of cities and districts of Sughd region.
It should be noted that in 2016 at the 11th interstate session of the UNESCO on the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage “Oshi palav” has been officially included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
