Tajik Cinema Days Showcase Films in Uzbekistan’s Capital

DUSHANBE, 25.03.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik Cinema Days are being held at the Palace of National Cinematography in Uzbekistan from March 23 to 25, showcasing Tajik films that explore real life, human stories and social themes, the Tajikfilm State Institution reported.
The opening ceremony on March 24 was attended by film industry representatives from both countries. Shukhrat Rizayev, Director General of Uzbekistan’s Cinematography Agency, called Uzbek and Tajik cinema “twins,” noting the contributions of filmmakers such as Komil Yormatov and Boris Kimyagarov. He highlighted the longstanding collaboration of actors across both countries, including Yodgor Sa’diev, Isamat Ergashev, Togon Redzhametov, Sairam Isayeva, Ato Mukhammedzhanov and Takhir Sabirov.
Films screened during the event included Fish in the Net and In Search of Truth on March 24, with Jura-Sarkor and Life is Beautiful scheduled for March 25. Organizers said the festival offers Uzbek audiences a closer look at the achievements of Tajik cinema.
