Juniors of Turkmenistan will not take part in the Asian Championship-2018 qualification
DUSHANBE, 25.08.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The junior football team of Turkmenistan (U-16), which took in early July the third place at the Hissar International Tournament “CAFA U-15 Boys Tournament 2017”, refused to take part in the Asian Championship-2018 qualification in group “B” to be held in Tajikistan.
According to the press service of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, in connection with the refusal of Turkmenistan to take part in the Asian Championship-2018 qualification, the Asian Football Confederation changed the terms of the competition in group “B”, where now there will compete not 5 but 4 teams. The qualification will not be held on September 16- 24, as it was planned earlier, but on September 20- 24. All matches will be held at the Hissar Central Stadium, which seats 20 thousand spectators.
We will recall that in the Asian Championship – 2018 qualification, Tajik junior team will play in Group B against the teams of Syria (September 20), Maldives (September 22) and Oman (September 24).
The winners of 10 groups and 5 teams, ranked second in their groups with the best results, will advance to the final part of the Asian Championships to be held September 20 to October 7 next year in Malaysia.
