Tajik citizens will rest one day on Idi Qurbon
DUSHANBE, 24.08.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On September 1, one of the main Muslim holidays — Idi Qurbon (sacrifice festival – Eid al-Adha or Kurban Bayram) will be celebrated in Tajikistan. This holiday in Tajikistan has been officially celebrated since 1991, and this day is a day off.
According to the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On holidays”, as September 1 falls on a weekday, namely on Friday, no shifts are expected. Then there will be two days off according to the working calendar schedule.
“In those organizations and institutions where Saturday is a working day, there will be a working day. All other Tajiks will rest for 3 days — on September 1, 2 and 3”, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan explained.
September 4 is a working day.
It should be noted that Idi Qurbon is one of the two major Muslim holidays, which is celebrated on the 10th day of the month of Zulhijah or 2 months and 10 days after Eid al-Fitr.
