Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon met with Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Isselkou Ould Ahmed Izid Bih
DUSHANBE, 16.10.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. At Kokhi Somon Palace, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon met with Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Isselkou Ould Ahmed Izid Bih, who led the Mauritania delegation at the second session of the Arab Cooperation and Economic Forum with Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
President of our country Emomali Rahmon pointed out that win – win cooperation with African countries has good prospects ahead and underscored Tajikistan’s readiness to promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation with its states, in particular with Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
During their talks the sides discussed in detail the enhancement of bilateral ties and trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian relations.
Discussing cooperation within the framework of the United Nations, Emomali Rahmon and Isselkou Ould Ahmed Izid Bih pointed out the importance of supporting of mutual initiatives aimed at promotion of sustainable regional development and solving the most urgent problems facing modern world.
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania, along with other states, has supported the initiative of Tajikistan for adopting UNGA Resolution and declaration of the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028».
