NBT, ADB agreed to cooperate in various branches of the banking system
DUSHANBE, 23.10.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan /NBT/ Jamoliddin Nuraliev held a working meeting with Resident Representative of the Asian Development Bank in Tajikistan Pradeep Srivastava.
According to the NBT’s press centre, during the meeting, the First Deputy Chairman of NBT Jamoliddin Nuraliev has familiarized Pradeep Srivastava with current macroeconomic situation and measures taken by the NBT to develop banking system of the Republic of Tajikistan, laid emphasis on development of cooperation in various branches of banking system, including strengthening of monetary policy and introduction of new tools to ensure gradual transition to a new monetary policy regime — inflation targeting.
J. Nuraliev drew an attention to the issue of providing technical assistance in these areas by conducting various trainings for analysis and research in the future as well as sharing experience of NBT employees in central banks-partners.
Pradip Srivastava, in turn, has expressed satisfaction with mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan, stated the readiness of the Asian Development Bank to support and continue cooperation in these areas.
Following the meeting it was noted that parties support further deepening cooperation in field of improving banking system, implementation of projected reforms in monetary and fiscal spheres.
