Dushanbe hosts sixth Cooperation Committee meeting of the EU-Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 02.11.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The sixth Cooperation Committee meeting of the EU-Tajikistan takes place in Dushanbe today. NIAT “Khovar” was informed by the press service of the Parliament of Tajikistan.
The delegation head of the of the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Sharif Rahimzoda and the delegation head of the of the European Parliament Iveta Grigule will attend the meeting.
During the meeting, it is planned to approve the protocol of the 5th Cooperation Committee meeting of the EU-Tajikistan Parliamentary of December 1st, 2016, discuss the political situation in Tajikistan and the European Union, as well as general bilateral relations between the European Parliament and Tajikistan since the 5th meeting of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
In addition, the agenda will include issues of the current political situation in Tajikistan and the European Union, the development of the regional policy of Central Asia and the role of Tajikistan and the European Union, with an emphasis on updating the strategy for Central Asia, security, combating terrorism, extremism and illicit drug trafficking, paying special attention to the situation in Afghanistan.
Also, the attention will be paid to environmental policy and management of water resources, economic and social situation, investment climate and development of agriculture in Tajikistan.
On completion, the date and place of the next meeting will be determined.
