Germany intends to assist in the implementation of the project for the construction of “Sebzor” hydropower station in Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 16.11.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Germany intends to assist in rehabilitation and equipping of tuberculosis hospitals, construction of a children’s tubercular hospital in Machiton, the improvement of medical care for pregnant and newborns, the improvement of emergency services and medical care emergency, the construction of new schools in Khatlon region and Rasht district and the restoration of communal infrastructure. It was informed at the Tajik-German intergovernmental consultations on financial and technical cooperation, which took place in Dushanbe.
As NIAT “Khovar” was informed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, the participants of the consultations discussed the issues of cooperation in the spheres of health, finance, energy, vocational education, and innovations.
The German delegation was headed by Catherine Ollers, Head of the Central and East Asia Department, Laos and Cambodia of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation (BMZ), as well as the delegation of Tajikistan – by the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqi Zavqizoda.
During the discussion of the prospects of cooperation, the interlocutors stated that sustainable economic development will be the main direction of cooperation in the future. Also, support will be provided in the areas of health, energy, education, innovative development, and the microfinance sector.
Talking about cooperation in the energy sector, the German side expressed its readiness to participate in the implementation of the project for the construction of “Sebzor” hydropower plant in Tajikistan.
